Create a Polaroid Photograph in Photoshop Tutorial

Pages: 1 2

Step 10

CRTL+V to paste and…oh dear, not very good is it? CRTL+Z to undo the last paste. Make a new layer. There’s a much better way of adding layers to an image that need to be distorted and flattened.

Step 11

Go Filter->Vanish point. A screen pops up. This is the vanish point. It allows us to distort images in a 3 dimensional way. First, click the Create plan tool (C). Now click in each corner of the table like so.

Step 12

CRTL+V to paste our image, then click the ‘Transform’ tool SHIFT drag the corner edges to maintain the aspect ratio.

Step 13

You can even rotate the edges - the pasted image will follow the plane we have made.

Step 14

Go ahead and make as many polaroid photos you want.

Step 15

For the polaroid coming out of the camera, we need it to be black. This time we don’t need the vanish point tool. Just CRTL+T to enter transform mode, then right-click and choose ‘Distort’, Now move, scale and rotate until you have it where you want it.

Step 16

Highlight one of the picture layers, and add a tiny bit of blur (Filter->Blur->Gaussian Blur). After that, little the little ‘f’ at the bottom of the layers panel and choose ‘Drop Shadow’ from the drop down list.

Step 17

As a last little touch, highlight the camera layer, and CRTL+M to bring up the Curves screen again. Now make the camera just a tiny bit darker. That’s all there is to it. Of course you can add more pictures and effects. The only thing you need to do is experiment.
