Tutorial to Create Playing Cards in Photoshop

To achieve that 3d look, we need to change the perspective. First I merged all three cards, then pressed CRTL+T. Then right-click and choose ‘Perspective’ from the options menu. Drag the bottom line outwards.

We can also effect the lighting to make it more realistic. In the Filters menus, choose Render-Lighting effects and use these values. Don’t forget you can move the position and diameter of the light.

Now here’s a great, classic trick. Merge both the card and background layers, copy them, and add a blur effect on the top copy. To use the blur, go->Filter->Blur->Gaussian Blur. That done, change the layer blending mode to Screen (circled red)

Almost there. Use the crop tool ‘C’, to get rid of the excess image.

Then we reduce the image dimensions by hitting CRTL+ALT+I to access the Image Size screen.

And here is the final result. Once you’ve done it a couple of times, you will find it very easy to do. But don’t stop there, use you r imagination and skills to create original playing cards.
