Tutorial to Create a Falling Paper Effect in Photoshop

Pages: 1 2

Step 11:

Click on the logo layer to deactivate the mask. Now change the paint brush mode to ‘Darken’, the opacity to 33% of thereabouts, and lastly, right-click and change the hardness to 0%. Now we have a very soft brush that is ideal for painting shadows. Slowly paint the bottom right corner of the logo layer

Step 12:

Now here’s the really cool trick with the paint brush tool. Change the Mode to ‘Behind’. This allows us to paint on the logo layer but we are actually painting behind the logo image. Amazing stuff!

Step 13:

As a last little detail for this layer, go Filter->Blur->Motion Blur. A screen pops up. This blurs the image depending on the angle we give it.

Step 14:

Now for the next logo layer. Go back to the first document and delete the layer. CRTL+V to paste again. Repeat the process all over again, but make the warp a different shape.

Step 15:

Here we have added our second logo layer. CRTL+T to transform and scale down to make it look as if it is in the background. Paint ‘Behind’ the layer and add a blur effect.

Step 16:

Again, the same procedure, making this logo layer longer and thinner.

Step 17:

As before, transform, scale up, mask and paint ‘behind’.

Step 18:

One more.

Step 19:

Here I have made the logo seem to be entering the open window.

Step 20:

And here’s our finished image. Of course, you can add as many falling papers as you want.
