Create and Send an Animated Valentine’s Day E-card in Photoshop
Step 9:
Hit SHIFT+F5 to open the Fill screen, and select ‘Foreground color’:
Step 10:
Time to add more text. Use a ‘happy’ font:
Step 11:
Now we’re going to use the layer styles option to change the text. Click the little f at the bottom of the layer panel and choose ‘Color Overlay’ from the drop down menu.
Step 12:
Now we are going to add an outer glow effect. Make sure Outer Gow is selected from the list so we can access its screen. All we need to change here is the Size (to make the glow bigger) and Spread (to give it a more intense glow).
Step 13:
I don’t like the font I’ve chosen, so hit T again, select the text, and choose another. That’s the great thing about Layer Styles
Step 14:
Oh! that’s nice. Hide the text layer by clicking the little eye next to it, and make another text. Go to Layer Styles again and add the Color Overlay. This time though, instead of Outer Glow, we’re going to use a Bevel. Hit ‘Bevel’ and the only thing we need to change here is the Style to ‘Emboss’.
Step 15:
Now we just need to add a ‘Drop Shadow’ style and this text is finished.
Step 16:
I want to add a couple of hearts (God, I’m so romantic) but I don’t have enough room. Easy solution. Hit CRTL+T to enter transform mode. At the top of the screen you get some options. We are only interested in the Width, so click inside the ‘W’ box and change to 60%. Just press Enter to exit transform mode:
Step 17:
Click and hold the Rectangle tool (U) until the drop down list appears. Choose ‘Custom Shape’. You now have some options at the top of the screen. See where it says Shape? Click here and you get a ton of shapes to choose from.
Step 18:
Click the heart shape and SHIFT+Drag on our image. SHIFT maintains the aspect ratio:
